Lifting chain slings are rugged, heavy, and tough. They are highly flexible and are used for lifting heavy machinery or load. There are different types of slings available. Chain slings are used widely in the construction, shipping and aircraft industries.  

Lifting chain slings are used along with a crane, powered hoist or some kind of lifting device. There are numerous reasons why chain slings are preferred in industries over synthetic or nylon strings. These have been listed below.

• Durable: 

Chain slings are highly durable. They resist cut, abrasions, chemicals and UV radiation.  They lift a very heavy load regularly. Their design is flexible and provides strength to withstand impact. 

• Heat-resistant: 

They can be used at higher temperatures, up to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Other slings cannot withstand such high temperatures. 

• Does Not Require Frequent Replacement: 

They do not elongate while lifting. This is due to their resistance, and therefore, they do not require frequent replacement. They have a long service life in comparison to their nylon or synthetic variants. 

• Versatile: 

Lifting chain slings are easily adjustable and completely reparable, in case they sustain damage. Since they are repairable, they are used in foundries, steel mills and heavy machine shops. Nylon or synthetic slings would be destroyed with repetitive lifts and harsh conditions. 

• Fatigue Resistant: 

Chain slings are resistant to fatigue. Regular wear and tear do not destroy its efficacy. They are not affected by dirt, grease, or oil.
