Learn The Prerequisites
The prerequisites to appear for the GMAT exam are not much. It would be best if you did not think that completing your bachelor’s degree falls under the prerequisites of GMAT. However, the subjects you learn in your business major on the undergrad level can affect your performance on the exam. The Registration Format
The registration process is, no doubt, the first step of the GMAT requirements. At the initial stage, you need to create an account on the official website of GMAT. Once done, you can schedule, reschedule, and cancel a test through your account.
Finding the exam centre is also easy. To do so, you need to enter your full address, city and state and your postal code in the specific search bar. The results will appear on the screen, and you can choose one that is near your locality. A physically challenged candidate can even check for accommodation near an exam centre using his/her account.
The Exam Explained in Detail
The purpose of GMAT is to define your candidature for a reputed business school. However, the GMAT score is not the only qualifying criteria. But your score, no doubt, carries extra weight during the admission process. There are four sections in the exam: Verbal and Analytical Writing, Quantitative section, and Integrated Reasoning.
In the Integrated Reasoning section, your reasoning ability is tested through tables, charts, and graphs. In the Quantitative section, your algebra, geometry, and arithmetic skills are measured. This section also includes a Data Analysis. In the Verbal segment, there are critical reasoning questions, sentence correction, and reading comprehension. The Analytical Writing section asks you to evaluate an argument, thereby offering substantial evidence in your support.
GMAT Score Requirement
The score needed to get admitted to a b-school depends solely on the decision of the school. The top 20 b-schools will demand a GMAT score of 700 or more to be a successful candidate. However, the most competitive business schools might require a GMAT score as high as 740. Some other business schools will get you in with a slightly lower score range of 620 to 700.
