Cleaning And Maintenance Tips For Sydney Bath And Tapware

Most of us think that keeping the bathroom clean is a difficult and expensive task but this is not true. There are a lot of cheap and easy ideas. The first important thing is that bath, tapware and the other fittings of the bathroom must be cleaned regularly to prevent it from dirt, stain, and grime. During the initial set up iron from the water supply pipes will deposit on the bath and end up in the formation of rust. For removing it use a mild cleaner.

Selecting the correct material and using the proper installation methods will reduce the maintenance expenses of Sydney bath and tapware to a certain level. Baths are made up of different materials like ceramic, glass and chrome. You have to follow different cleaning and maintenance procedures for each material.

Ceramic:

Basins used in the bathrooms are mostly made up of ceramic material. Use warm water and soapy water for cleaning ceramic basins. It must be cleaned regularly to prevent it from limescale and dirt. Do not use strong cleaners. It may damage the outer surface of the basin.

Glass:

Glass material is not suited for places where they use hard water because removing limescale from the glass material is very difficult. For cleaning glass materials in the bathroom add vinegar to the normal water or you can also use lime water in mild concentration. Detergents should not be used for cleaning glass objects.

Stainless Steel:

To prevent corrosion stainless steel must be cleaned regularly. It must be maintained in a hygiene condition. Use soap and warm water for cleaning and once cleaned immediately wipe the surface with a soft and dry cloth. Do not use steel and wool pads for soap since they may form rust spots on the surface.

Chrome:

It is one of the popular materials because it can last for a long period without any issues. Acid and strong cleaners can affect the chrome material so always use mild cleaner which is specially made for chrome material. If not available use warm water.

Wood:

Bathroom furniture and panels are mostly made up of solid and hardwood. Storage of water in the wood furniture will damage the surface. So the furniture must be kept free from water storage.  If you see water on the surface of the wood furniture immediately wipe it with the soft cloth. Wooden furniture used in the bathroom will have a varnished surface so do not use scouring powder and abrasive cleaner.

Baths:

Acrylic baths must be cleaned after using it. It can be cleaned with soapy water but do not use strong cleaners since they are very light when compared with other baths like ceramic, porcelain and stainless steel. Even some shampoos and soaps can damage the material or leave stains in it. So it is not recommended to use the acrylic bath for houses.
